Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Operations Department Instrument Data Processing team. Tasks will include:

• Support to routine operation of geostationary satellite image processing systems
• Monitoring and reporting on the system performance
• Investigation and correction of anomalies relating to system performance
• Support the further development and enhancement of image processing systems
• Support the operational preparation for future spacecraft and missions.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree or equivalent in science or engineering
• Strong mathematical skills and very good knowledge of digital image processing
• At least 3 years professional experience with:
• Image navigation and registration as well as radiometric correction of satellite images
• On-board calibration of satellite EO images
• Experience or knowledge of: Real-time EO image processing, sounding instrument data processing, UNIX, IDL, C++, image processing algorithms, validation of large systems, spacecraft and ground segment operation.
• Fluency in English is mandatory, a working knowledge of French would be an asset.
