Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Instrument Data Processing Engineer (GEO)
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Operations Department Instrument Data Processing team. Tasks will include:
- Support to routine operation of geostationary satellite image processing systems
- Monitoring and reporting on the system performance
- Investigation and correction of anomalies relating to system performance
- Support the further development and enhancement of image processing systems
- Support the operational preparation for future spacecraft and missions.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree or equivalent in science or engineering
- Strong mathematical skills and very good knowledge of digital image processing
- At least 3 years professional experience with:
- Image navigation and registration as well as radiometric correction of satellite images
- On-board calibration of satellite EO images
- Experience or knowledge of: Real-time EO image processing, sounding instrument data processing, UNIX, IDL, C++, image processing algorithms, validation of large systems, spacecraft and ground segment operation.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, a working knowledge of French would be an asset.
