On behalf of ESA’s Electrical Engineering Department at ESTEC we are looking for: Microelectronics Design and Validation Support
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Defining and supervising internal and subcontracted R&D activities related to:
- High abstraction level modelling, simulation and debugging of multi-core System on Chip designs for space applications;
- Tools and methods for design space exploration of space SoC;
- Architectures, Operating Systems and software profiling of next generation general purpose microprocessors and DSP for space;
- Support to TEC-ED in generating new proposals, ESA partnership and evaluation of Space and ICT calls of European Frame Programmes.
Other tasks:
Providing VLSI / Integrated Circuits technical expertise to space Projects and R&D contracts, involving requirements analysis, performance and area-time-power budget analysis; writing and assessment of VLSI specifications; review, evaluation and checking of industrial contractor\'s VLSI designs and auditing IC design methodology. Identification of IC design deficiencies and problem areas and proposals of solutions.
Designing, analysing, verification and testing of ASIC, FPGA and VLSI systems in general for control and data handling applications, and/or signal processing for space applications using industrial IC design CAD standard tools, and hardware description and programming languages.
Skills and Experience:
- University degree in Electronics or equivalent;
- Fluent in English; knowledge of another ESA member state language is an asset;
- Extensive experience in Microelectronics design and testing;
- Experience in space hardware is desirable;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
