Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for a Archive, Retrieval and User Services Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Multi-Mission System Team. Tasks will include:

  • Ground Segment requirements analysis for GMES Sentinel-3,
  • System architectural design, review and implementation,
  • Implementation of Archive/Retrieval and User Services solutions,
  • System Integration, Verification and Validation,
  • Validation, verification and commissioning of data access system archive and user interfaces,
  • Participate in meetings.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree or equivalent in computer science or engineering,
  • At least 5 years professional experience in software engineering for Archive/Retrieval and User Services systems for Earth Observation,
  • Strong Java (J2SE) experience, knowledge of C++ (STL),
  • UNIX, Solaris, Linux, TCP/IP and web services (Apache CFX or Axis),
  • Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL and JFBC, XML, XSTL (JAXB, Xalan/Xerces, JDOM),
  • Servlets/JSPs using Tomcat web container,
  • Meteorological Image Processing and data format conversion (NetCDF),
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
