Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for a Operations Planner of the International Space Station (ISS)
Activities
Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space transportation, space station and satellites. You will be working on-site as an Operations Planner, establishing plans for the European activities on board the International Space Station (ISS). This exciting position involves:
- Interaction with numerous international partner institutions for the integration and management of planning data for Columbus day-to-day operations
- You will be introduced to the environment of space operations for the European Columbus module and its scientific payload
- You will be educated in the application of processes and dedicated computer systems for the collection of planning data for Columbus day-to-day operations (partner institutions are e.g. European centres for experiment facilities operations as well as planning experts from international space agencies NASA and JAXA)
- You will have the perspective of taking over team manager functions later.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- Graduation/diploma engineering studies required
- Good knowledge of Office Applications under Microsoft Operating System required
- Experience in database application preferred
- Knowledge/experience in the ISS operations environment
- Fluent English language are mandatory, Italian language skills would be a plus
- You are capable of working in a team with a high motivation to integrate and learn
- Willingness to travel 6-7 times a year to Moscow and Houston
Starting date: January 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
