To support ESA’s Human Spaceflight Directorate at ESTEC in the promotion of International Space Station (ISS) activities we are looking for : Marketing and Communication Specialist

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The main tasks are related to building an appropriate image for the ISS and to the promotion of the ISS as an infrastructure for research, development and innovative activities such as sponsorship or product
placement.

ISS Brand Operational Phase:

• Definition of the ISS image promotion campaigns to achieve an attractive ISS commercial environment which stimulates demand for the ISS commercial development, specifically, including image concept, target audiences and communications channels;
• Evaluation of the degree of penetration and retention of the ISS promotion campaign and generation of feedback to the campaign evolution;
• Support of a stream of information related to ISS commercial development via on-line, print publications, direct marketing and other appropriate means;
• Contribution to preparation of programme proposals concerning the ISS commercialisation programme.

Market Analysis:

• Performance of analysis of the priority markets identifying market segments, potential customers and their characteristics (e.g. market share, size, location, address). Industry and product trends shall be also identified and analysed (e.g. SWOT analysis). All collected information shall support the strategic and annual marketing plan.

Events:

• Coordination and identification of events which address the CPO relevant market sectors with the creation of specialised marketing material, including the organisation of trade fairs, conferences, exhibitions, events and workshops, to promote the ISS brand;
• Support to customers by participating in events, which are defined in the yearly marketing plan.

Commercial Agents Network Support:

• Support of the Commercial Agents Network activities. Additionally, the contractor shall support the marketing communication activities of the Commercial Agents.
• The candidate will support the customers in preparing additional promotion material upon request.

Skills and Experience:

• University Degree in Political Science, Communications, Economics, Master of Science or specialisation in Space Studies or other equivalent discipline;
• Fluent in English; knowledge of another Member State language is an asset;
• Several years of professional experience in Marketing and Communication;
• Good knowledge of graphical software application, such as MS PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop.
