Role:
The Internet and Intranet Support Engineer will be reporting to the Enterprise Content Manager. The primary task will be to design, implement and maintain the EUMETSAT Internet, extranets and intranet service in the Oracle UCM environment.
It is foreseen, that the detailed tasks will include as a minimum:
• Maintain the existing Internet and intranet websites as well as other services offered via the Internet and intranet,
• Provide second level support for the Internet and intranet websites and the Content Management System,
• Support the requirement specification and analysis phases in support of future upgrades including contributions to project planning and reporting,
• Design, implement, test and integrate HTML web pages and dynamic pages
• Support the customer acceptance and roll-out phases of new or enhanced services and support the subsequent pilot and operational service phase,
• Document the tasks and deliverables according to EUMETSAT working processes and practices, standards, procedures and guidelines as well as maintain these documents inline with changes to the corresponding services, systems and applications,
• Perform the related quality assurance, configuration and change management, as well as document management activities,
In the performance of these tasks, the consultant shall apply the relevant organisational and programmatic quality management procedures, including the relevant configuration and change control procedures, the relevant system engineering standards and working practices, as well as the applicable system operations and maintenance working practices and procedures.
Profile:
The consultant shall preferably have a university degree in a relevant discipline together with several years of proven experience in developing, managing and administrating websites.
The consultant is required to have as a minimum:
• Experience in developing websites and content based on a Content Management System, especially using Oracle UCM 10gR3/Stellent Site Studio 7.5,
• Extensive knowledge of and experience in HTML, JavaScript and JSP,
• Experience of using DHTML, CSS, XML/XSL, Idoc Script
• Knowledge of Internet technical and organisational aspects, Internet working concepts and architectures, “classical” Internet applications (e.g. FTP, SMTP, NNTP)
• Basic knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows operating systems
• Experience in further web application programming languages and environments, e.g. Perl, PHP,
• Good personal communication skills (oral and written)
In addition, the following aspects shall be considered an advantage:
• Knowledge of and experience with Java, SQL, Adobe PhotoShop,
• Knowledge of tag based web analytic tools and related analysis
• Knowledge of technical aspects of Document Management systems
• Experience in a structured, ISO 9000 certified project and service environment,
• Knowledge of change and configuration management fundamentals and principles.
The work requires a team player with the ability to work efficiently in a small team environment. The variety of the tasks requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to take your own initiatives. The close interaction with customers and users of the Internet, extranets and intranet also requires a high degree of customer focus and service orientation.
The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English. |
