Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for a Senior Thermal Engineering Architect
Activities
Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space systems and security applications. You will work for the SGEO project, a small geostationary satellite bus that will be launched in 2012. By working in multi-discipline project teams, you will enjoy a high degree of scope for creativity, independence and self-initiative. In your role as Thermal Architect you will be responsible for the following activities:
Thermal System:
- Lead of the SGEO Thermal System
- Collect and control of thermal interfaces between System and Thermal Subsystem
- Support of SGEO System Engineering
- Risk and schedule control for the thermal tasks
- Review and control of thermal requirements from system down to units
- Definition of mission requirements and interfaces by engineering experience
- Review and establish the SGEO thermal concept
- Review and control of the thermal performance of the satellite equipment
Thermal Subsystem:
- Technical and programmatic interface to the subcontracted Thermal Subsystem and control of subcontractor activities
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Several years of professional experience in Space System Engineering
- Working knowledge of satellite thermal design techniques and methods
- Experience in working with ESATAN
- Experience in subcontractor management
- Ability to think at systems level
- Good communication and problem solving skills
- Fluency in English language is mandatory; German is advantageous.
Starting date: February 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
