Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for a Senior Thermal Engineering Architect

Activities

Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space systems and security applications. You will work for the SGEO project, a small geostationary satellite bus that will be launched in 2012. By working in multi-discipline project teams, you will enjoy a high degree of scope for creativity, independence and self-initiative. In your role as Thermal Architect you will be responsible for the following activities:

Thermal System:

  • Lead of the SGEO Thermal System
  • Collect and control of thermal interfaces between System and Thermal Subsystem
  • Support of SGEO System Engineering
  • Risk and schedule control for the thermal tasks
  • Review and control of thermal requirements from system down to units
  • Definition of mission requirements and interfaces by engineering experience
  • Review and establish the SGEO thermal concept
  • Review and control of the thermal performance of the satellite equipment

Thermal Subsystem:

  • Technical and programmatic interface to the subcontracted Thermal Subsystem and control of subcontractor activities

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Several years of professional experience in Space System Engineering
  • Working knowledge of satellite thermal design techniques and methods
  • Experience in working with ESATAN
  • Experience in subcontractor management
  • Ability to think at systems level
  • Good communication and problem solving skills
  • Fluency in English language is mandatory; German is advantageous.

Starting date: February 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
