Role:
Support space weather activities within the Space Situational Awareness Preparatory Programme and in particular:
- contribute to the consolidation of space weather user and system requirements;
- contribute to definition of space weather services system architecture and engagement of national assets;
- review technical work and proposals
- supporting the Technical Officer tasks especially in the area of space weather monitoring and service provision infrastructure and instruments development
- contribute to the production of internal management and technical reports
The contractor will act as an expert in Space Weather measurement and service provision systems to support the definition and pre-development phase of the Space Weather element of the ESA Space Situational Awareness programme. Good communication and team working skills will be necessary and the contractor will be required to communicate proactively and responsibly with necessary external entities for information gathering. He/she will be required to assist in administrative and programme preparation tasks as required by the project and should be able to work with challenging workloads and dead-lines.
Profile:
Junior Engineer with PhD in space physics or space engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with space instrumentation and/or space weather.
Good communication skills. |
