Activities

Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space systems and security applications. You will be working in the Galileo project, a global satellite navigation system which intends to provide more precise measurements than available through existing systems like GPS. It will be an independent positioning system upon which European nations can rely. In this role you will support the Attitude Orbit and Control System (AOCS) as well as the Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) System of the Galileo satellites. This involves the following activities:

• Support to the validation of the AOCS subsystem for Galileo satellites
• Planning, carrying out and evaluation of AOCS actuator tests and sensors on unit and satellite level
• Modelling of AOCS units in Matlab/Simulink
• Support mission analysis

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Physics or similar
• Several years of experience in AOCS/GNC and orbit analysis
• Professional experience in Assembly, Integration and Test or AOCS will be highly appreciated
• Knowledge/experience in mission analysis tools, ideally STK
• Matlab/Simulink knowledge
• You are communicative and like team work in projects
• You can adapt easily to new tasks
• You are fluent in English language; German is advantageous.

Starting date: March/April 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
