Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for an Systems Engineer of Thermal and Structural aspects
Activities
Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space systems and security applications. You will be working on-site for the prestigious “Galileo” navigation satellite project. By working in multi-discipline project teams, you will enjoy a high degree of scope for creativity, independence and self-initiative. In your role as Systems Engineer you will coordinate thermal and structural aspects internally and externally. This includes the following activities:
- As part of the project team you are the interface to the thermal and structural department
- Analysis of thermal / structure requirements of the launcher(s)
- Analysis of requirements concerning adjustment accuracy of payload/attitude control
- Supervision and control of numerical simulations in the relevant departments and of the development process in the structural / thermal team
- Development and maintenance of documentation (specifications, design descriptions, ICDs, test procedures and reviews)
- Participation in project reviews
- Support of satellite projects from proposal phase to in-orbit operations
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in aerospace engineering or any other relevant qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the thermal and structural field
- Knowledge in numerical simulations (e.g. NASTRAN, ESARAD/ESATAN)
- Customer orientation and ability to represent the project to internal and external stakeholders
- You are communicative and able to take over responsibility
- You are fluent in English language; German is advantageous
Starting date: March/April 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
