Role:
The Swarm PDGS System Architect role is to support Swarm PDGS Project Manager for the preparation of the PDGS procurement, its implementation, integration and verification, and to ensure preparation, management and completion of the PDGS system milestones.
This role requires an almost daily interaction with the Swarm PDGS Project Manager, and management of a support team (starting from 1 person on-site).
The Contractor shall ensure the completion of the PDGS milestones, from the System Requirements Review to the Commissioning Phase Review. In particular he/she will be responsible for the end-to-end PDGS system reviews organization including:
- PDGS Review procedures preparation
- PDGS Review Documentation package preparation
- PDGS Review item discrepancy disposal
- Coordination of derived actions
The Contractor shall be responsible for interfacing the PDGS procurement Contractors for clarifying any technical issue related to the Space and Flight Operation Segment, as well as for ESA multi-mission GS interfaces infrastructure.
The Contractor shall be responsible for organizing the PDGS industrial participation to the Space and Ground Segment reviews including:
- Documentation package review
- Coordination of derived PDGS actions
The Contractor shall be responsible for the preparation of the PDGS overall procurements acceptance and integration, including:
- Test data strategy
- Acceptance coordination
The Contractor shall set-up and maintain the following systems:

Swarm PDGS technical documentation baseline, including (up-to-date and complete):

Swarm PDGS System documentation repository

Swarm PDGS Interface control repository
-
Swarm PDGS Integration and system testing repository

The maintenance of any software item necessary to perform the required Swarm PDGS support activities.
Profile:

University degree in a relevant discipline

a demonstrable experience on complex systems design, implementation, integration and verification

Experience in System Engineering practices and on the implementation of the full lifecycle of requirements engineering of a Space System

a good knowledge of EO ground segment infrastructure and elements

a demonstrable large projects coordination experience in international environment

good communication and organisation skills

ability to work in a team

a very good knowledge of the English language, both oral and written

Experience or knowledge of the following is considered as an asset:

ESA ECSS standards

1 Swarm GS next review is the Critical Design Review, date still to be decided, possibly September 2009.
