| Job Description |
In support of the ISS increment Operations Services at ESA’s Directorate of Human Spaceflight we are looking for: Payload Integration Engineer
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Supporting Strategic and Tactical Planning (development/update of IDRD main book and annexes) and increment definition (Feasibility Assessments, ESA IRD establishment)
- Supporting review, submittal and maintenance of increment integration specific products as PTP, MR-loaders and CEF;
- Supporting development/review/implementation of payload end-to-end scenarios, integration and operations concepts and implementation plans;
- Supporting the integration management function of the payloads/experiments pre-selected for the ISS;
- Supporting establishment and maintenance of requirements, plans and procedures for the preparation and implementation of relevant activities;
- Supporting coordination, reviewing, and accepting payloads/experiments data products, equipment and flight packages, including safety and ESR reviews;
- Providing relevant support to equipment acceptance and Certification of Flight Readiness activities;
- Supporting Analytical Integration activities and Columbus element level analyses (e.g. topology, payload compatibility, engineering feasibility assessments)
- Reviewing Increment and stage Planning products
- Supporting anomaly and SPR resolution
- Provision of Payload integration interface to external entities
- Supporting preparation of contractual documentation, such as Statements of Work
- Supporting various ESA Boards, Working Groups and Teams, such as Payload Control Board or Increment Integration Team
Skills and Experience:
- Several years of experience in production, review, maintenance and implementation of integration related systems and products for the ISS programme;
- University Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Excellent English;
- Ability to work on her/his own initiative and to tight deadlines;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Starting date: May 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
