In support of the ESA’s Human Spaceflight Directorate at ESTEC we are looking for :
Marketing and Communication Specialist

The tasks covered relate to the promotion of and communication activities around Human Spaceflight (HSF) and the International Space Station (in particular) as an infrastructure for research, development, education and other innovative activities.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Supporting the carrying out of survey and data analysis concerning the perception of HSF programmes and the ISS in particular in European countries and to propose actions on this basis;
• Providing a detailed definition and follow up implementation of above mentioned actions;
• Gathering, organising and synthesising information, intelligence and other data about the general public and specific stakeholders perception concerning HSF and the ISS;
• Preparing reports on the above and flag issues, opportunities and threats
• Establishing an effective link with a broad range of stakeholders, existing and potential, for HSF and ISS;
• Contributing to the definition and implementation of a larger public engagement effort in support of sustainable human spaceflight and exploration efforts;
• Actively contributing to the definition and implementation of events, productions and other occurrences;
• Researching and proposing new themes and fields for promotion and communication in support of sustainable human spaceflight and exploration activities
• Support the Head of the Coordination Office in liaising with International Partners and follow up the work of international WGs;
• Producing texts, brochure and other promotional material with the support of internal and external suppliers and providers;
• Liaising with and coordinating external suppliers, experts, and with internal services as appropriate.

Skills and experience:

• PhD or Master of Science in Political Science, Communications, Economics or other equivalent discipline;
• Several years of relevant experience;
• Fluent in English; knowledge of another member state language is an asset;
• Several years of professional experience in public affairs ideally in a high-tech environment;
• Interest and knowledge of programmes in the field of HSF;
• Good writing and presentation skills;
• Good knowledge of graphical software applications, such as MS PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop.
