Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for a AOCS Engineer for Satellites
Activities
Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the area of satellites. You will be working on-site as an AOCS Subsystem Engineer for a geostationary satellite programme and will report directly to the project avionics technical responsible. This includes the following activities:
- Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) subsystem engineering for a geostationary satellite project
- In charge of the definition and development of the AOCS subsystem including definition of the verification philosophy on subsystem level and specification of test requirements
- Coordination with system level via the avionics technical responsible of the project
- Responsibility for the management of subcontractors and hardware suppliers, with support of the subcontractor management organisation within the project
- In charge of all AOCS related project activities, ensuring technical quality as well as schedule and budget compliance on subsystem level
- Lead a group of AOCS project engineers
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in engineering, physics or a comparable qualification
- You have several years of professional experience in space projects as AOCS subsystem engineer, AOCS project engineer or in a similar technical position
- AIT project experience would be of advantage
- Ideally, you have already worked on DLR or ESA optical satellite development projects
- Fluency in English language is mandatory; German is advantageous
Starting date: June/July 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
