Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Control Centre team. Tasks will include:

• Operation of satellite EO data product encryption and dissemination systems,
• Analysis, implementation and validation of new data streams,
• Identification, investigation and rectification of anomalies,
• Implementation, maintenance and operation of satellite data encryption functions,
• Provision of stand-by and call-out support outside normal working hours,
• Prepare and maintain operational databases and procedures,
• Support the evolution of the dissemination systems to cope with evolving demand.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in operations or software maintenance of real-time data dissemination systems
• Familiarity with satellite communications and ground segment operations
• Installation, configuration and scripting for LINUX and Windows
• Analysis and evaluation of system and application logs and events
• Monitoring of data flows in large near real-time computer networks
• Provision of data services in a high availability 24/7 environment
• Encryption techniques, formal testing, configuration control
• Fluency in English is mandatory; some knowledge of French would be an asset.
