Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a IASI / Hyper Spectral Sounding Consultant
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the EPS Support Team. Tasks will include:
- Calibration verification and validation of the EPS Product Processing Facilities,
- Enhance and extend the processing capability particularly for Day-2 products,
- Prototype coding of algorithms and test procedures for EO instrument data,
- Support the IASI product generation software development,
- Contribute towards IR sounding instrument systems for future missions.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and significant professional experience:
- University degree in meteorology, atmospheric physics or equivalent,
- At least five years professional experience in satellite remote sensing,
- Infrared sounding instrument data processing,
- IASI and hyper-spectral sounding data,
- Specification, development and testing of complex data processing systems,
- Programming skills in Fortran, C/C++ and Java,
- Familiarity with satellite instrument characteristics for Earth observation, meteorology and climate monitoring applications
- Knowledge of high spectral resolution instruments would be an advantage,
- Fluency in English is mandatory; some knowledge of French would be an asset.
