Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a IASI / Hyper Spectral Sounding Consultant

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the EPS Support Team. Tasks will include:

  • Calibration verification and validation of the EPS Product Processing Facilities,
  • Enhance and extend the processing capability particularly for Day-2 products,
  • Prototype coding of algorithms and test procedures for EO instrument data,
  • Support the IASI product generation software development,
  • Contribute towards IR sounding instrument systems for future missions.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and significant professional experience:

  • University degree in meteorology, atmospheric physics or equivalent,
  • At least five years professional experience in satellite remote sensing,
  • Infrared sounding instrument data processing,
  • IASI and hyper-spectral sounding data,
  • Specification, development and testing of complex data processing systems,
  • Programming skills in Fortran, C/C++ and Java,
  • Familiarity with satellite instrument characteristics for Earth observation, meteorology and climate monitoring applications
  • Knowledge of high spectral resolution instruments would be an advantage,
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; some knowledge of French would be an asset.
