Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for a Systems Engineer for Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT)
Activities
Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space systems and security applications. You will be working in the Galileo project, a global satellite navigation system which intends to provide more precise measurements than available through existing systems like GPS. It will be an independent positioning system upon which European nations can rely. In this role you will support the Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) of Galileo. This involves the following activities:
- Planning and supervision of AIT of complex satellite systems
- Development of processes for test and verification of satellites in a small serial production
- Development of system level procedures
- Coordination of AIT activities with suppliers and subcontractors
- Support to the development and implementation of strategies for satellite production
- Evaluation of schedules, cost and resource plans
- Development, maintenance and evaluation of AIT documentation
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in a relevant Engineering or science discipline
- Several years of professional experience as a satellite systems engineer in the space business, preferably in ESA or commercial space projects
- Experience with hardware projects in project phases B/C/D in satellite AIT (focus: structural/mechanical AIT) and serial production
- Ability to work independently, strong communication skills
- Fluency in English language is mandatory; German is advantageous.
Starting date: July/August 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter
