Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space company we are looking for a Payload Technical Responsible for Optical Payload Systems
Activities
Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the area of satellites. You will be working on-site as a Payload Technical Responsible for Optical Payload Systems for a geostationary satellite programme and will report directly to the project technical responsible. This includes the following activities:
- Payload systems engineering for development and integration of an optical satellite
- Coordination of all technical activities related to optical payloads as technical interface between the system level and the selected subcontractors
- Generation and maintenance of the payload specification and tracking of the implementation process performed by the subcontractors
- Overview and critical control of all technical activities performed by the subcontractors including technical project management, design and analysis, definition of the verification approach, etc.
- Definition, design and development of the optical ground support equipment according to project requirements
- Lead a group of payload engineers
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in engineering, physics or a comparable qualification with focus on optical systems
- You have several years of professional experience as payload systems engineer for optical systems, optical design engineer or in a similar position
- Ideally, you have already worked on DLR or ESA optical satellite development projects
- Fluency in English language is mandatory; German is advantageous
