Activities

As Russian Language Service Manager you will report directly to the head of the Management Support Office. You will be in charge of providing language services management for the Human Spaceflight and Exploration Operations Department and the Directorate of Human Spaceflight as well as liaison assistance for the Russian interface, translation/interpretation and language services. This includes the following tasks:

• Language Services Management for managing and coordinating with the relevant parties in Russia and Europe a Russian language service for ESA
• Liaison assistance to ESA management and engineers in support of the interface to the Russian aviation and space establishments, and in terms of contacts with the Russian counterparts to set up (board) meetings, telecons, reviews and conferences
• Simultaneous interpreter support for meetings, telecons and conferences
• Translation of technical, contractual and other documents from English to Russian or Russian to English
• Preparation and translation of correspondence between ESA and the Russians
• Support of all projects with Russian interfaces within OPS-H and D-HSF

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• Professional training in the area of Interpreting, Translations or equivalent
• Fluency in Russian (preferably native speaker) and in English
• Knowledge of space- related vocabulary and understanding of the subject matter
• Several years of professional experience in simultaneous translation
• Ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely in both languages
