Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Meteorological Product Operations Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Surface and Atmospheric Sounding operations team. Tasks will include:

• Monitoring and reporting of product meteorological production and quality,
• Extracting the relevant information from the ATOVS/AVHRR EPS processing chains,
• Monitoring and analysing MSG MPEF products, namely Clear Sky Radiances, Tropospheric Humidity, and Layer Precipitable Water,
• Implementing new products into the operational product processing chains,
• Working on improvement of existing product quality to meet user requirements,
• Reporting, diagnosing, tracking and resolution of anomalies in product services.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in a relevant discipline
• At least 3 years experience in meteorological satellite data products production,
• Quality control of EO satellite data production,
• Configuration control of software and data,
• Operational product processing, monitoring and reporting,
• Experience with IDL, ENVI under UNIX,
• Calibration and validation of satellite products,
• Knowledge of NOAA polar satellite data, MSG and EPS missions and instruments,
• Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
