Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Infrared Sounding Consultant
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the EPS support team. Tasks will include:
- Calibrating and validating the EPS Product Processing Facilities,
- Improvement and extension IASI processors, in particular for Day-2 products,
- Validation of the IASI L2 Product Processing Facility,
- Prototype coding of algorithms and tests procedures, generation of test data,
- Contribution to the definition and follow-up of further IASI studies,
- Support to the IASI Level 2 software development.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in meteorology, atmospheric physics, or equivalent,
- At least three years of experience in the field of remote sounding,
- Specification, design, and coding of complex product prototype processors,
- Atmospheric remote sensing, handling and processing of remotely sensed data,
- Retrieval of atmospheric parameters from infrared sounding instruments,
- Programming language Fortran, C/C++, Java,
- Earth observation, in particular for meteorology and climate monitoring,
- High spectral resolution instruments as well as the processing of their data,
- Fluency in English is mandatory a working knowledge of French would be an asset.
