Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Earth Observation Scientific Consultant

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Post-EPS Science Team. Tasks will include:

  • Refinement of mission requirements in response to expert advice and results of scientific studies,
  • Conduct of scientific assessments related to requirements refinements,
  • Interaction with expert teams and support to the conduct of expert team meetings,
  • Contribution to the development of prototype processors,
  • Assessment of results from scientific studies,
  • Generation of technical documents and participation in reviews.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in meteorology, atmospheric physics or remote sensing,
  • At least 3 years experience in the field of remote sensing,
  • Atmospheric remote sensing in the optical spectrum (Ultraviolet to Infrared),
  • Radiative transfer,
  • Familiarity with EO systems in operational meteorology and climate monitoring,
  • Handling and processing of remote sensing data,
  • Very good skills in a higher programming language (e.g. Fortran, C++),
  • The ability to write concise and comprehensive documents,
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
