Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Storage Network Engineer (SNI)

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Storage Network Infrastructure Team. Tasks will include:

• SNI performance monitoring, problem investigation and correction,
• Liaison with the external providers of H/W and S/W maintenance,
• Administration of Oracle databases, tuning of database configuration parameters,
• Analysis, planning and performance of H/W and S/W upgrades or reconfigurations,
• Develop scripts and procedures for automated and controlled operation,
• Routine and standby/on-call support.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree or equivalent in computer science or engineering,
• At least 6 years administration and troubleshooting of distributed storage systems,
• Extensive experience in the UNIX, Storage Area Networks (SAN), backup/archive,
• Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) systems (SAM-FS),
• StorageTek SL8500 series with ACSLS software,
• SAN topologies, Brocade (or equivalent) switches, EMC Clariion,
• SAN capacity planning and management software concepts,
• Symantec NetBackup, Sun/Solaris 10, SUN Cluster, LINUX, Oracle 11, TOAD
• Security on host, network and storage level (firewalls, SSL, encryption); SAN Fabric,
• Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
