Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a LEO Product Processing SW Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Operations Department - Maintenance and Engineering Team. Tasks will include:

  • Maintenance and evolution of low earth orbiting satellite data processing SW,
  • Support the installation, configuration and testing of externally developed software,
  • Contribution to software system design and re-engineering,
  • Support to the development and implementation of tools
  • System definition, interface design and system integration and testing,
  • Setting-up and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures
  • Anomaly investigation, documentation, classification and resolution.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and significant professional experience:

  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline,
  • At least three years professional experience in UNIX application development and support,
  • Meteorological satellite data product processing,
  • Operating and maintaining software systems under UNIX (LINUX and AIX), C/C++
  • Software build environments and tools (e.g. make, imake, debuggers, insure++),
  • Source code control system, preferably Subversion or CVS,
  • MMI design and build, Web-based programming, Ajax, XML, XPATH, SVG,
  • Database backed content management systems, Oracle 10/11,
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
