Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Metop-B Team. Tasks will include:

• Support and consolidate the Metop-B LEOP service procurement and provision;
• Coordination of LEOP preparation Core Ground Segment, Operation Preparation, Flight Dynamics, System IV&V, launcher activities and the Metop-A operation team;
• Prepare for and support SSVT and listen in test during LEOP;
• Post-delivery support of the Metop simulator, MRDB, the Flight Operation Manual;
• Support non regression testing of space and ground segment interfaces;
• Analyse the impact of technical and schedule changes, and propose solutions.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree or equivalent in mechanics, physics or in a related discipline;
• At least 5 years relevant experience in space/launcher technology;
• Satellite system preparation for LEO satellite operations during the early orbits;
• Flight dynamics, RF for compatibility test, launcher trajectory;
• Low Earth Orbit (LEO), 3-Axis Stabilised Spacecraft;
• EPOCH 2000 and SCOS control systems;
• Spacecraft operations procedures for nominal and contingency- recovery cases;
• Change control and configuration management of spacecraft operations systems;
• Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
