As support to the European Space Operations Centre we are looking for a Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Station Expert

Activities

Our customer conducts mission operations for ESA satellites and establishes, operates and maintains the necessary ground segment infrastructure. You will be working on-site as GNSS Station Expert in the Navigation Systems Domain, responsible for the following activities:

• Maintenance of the GNSS receiver network infrastructure:
  • Antenna and receiver hardware and other remote hardware infrastructure, coordination of repair and replacement
  • Remote software maintenance
• Network extension as necessary
  • Selection of location on site and coordination of setup
  • Affects same components as under maintenance
• Maintenance of local infrastructure
  • Data retrieval, storage and distribution systems
  • Interaction with other teams
• Operation of the network
  • overseeing automated data retrieval, storage and distribution
  • coordination with projects using the data
• Interaction/coordination with other network operators/international bodies (IGS)
  • Support to definition and improvements of standards

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree or equivalent in mathematics, informatics, computer science, aerospace or any other relevant degree
• Several years of experience in the above mentioned activities
• Ideally, you possess a broad technical background in the following areas:
  • GNSS system and receiver knowledge
  • Experience in GNSS receiver network management and GNSS data (satellites- to-satellite and satellite-to-ground) processing techniques
• Ideally, an understanding of relevant standards, including ECSS and CCSDS
• Effective communication skills gained in a multinational and -cultural environment
• Fluency in the English language is mandatory
