As support to a European space company we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer MetOp-B (Data Handling & OBSM)

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the MetOp-B Flight Control Team. Tasks will include:

• Systems engineering of spacecraft and ground segments
• Flight Operation Procedure preparation and validation
• System validation test preparation
• Mission control system validation
• Training and Simulations
• LEOP preparation and execution
• Handover and post-LEOP activities
• Data Handling and on-board software maintenance

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree or equivalent in science or engineering
• Spacecraft subsystems knowledge
• Ground Segment knowledge at system level
• Satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000, and operational simulators
• Experience with pre-launch activities and launch campaigns
• Operational validation of systems and operational procedures
• Familiarity with PC based MS tools
• Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards
• Able to work independently and good communication skills
• Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French or German an asset
