Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for an Aerosol Product Development Consultant
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the LEO Support Team within the Meteorological Division. Tasks will include:
- Development of aerosol products from instruments on the EPS series of satellites;
- Development and extension of algorithms for application to future satellite missions;
- Prototyping of software and the validation of the subsequent products;
- Test data descriptions, algorithm specifications and validation reports;
- Supporting Meteorological Operations to implement and validate the products;
- Collaboration with expert groups and the wider scientific community.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree or equivalent in remote sensing or in a relevant discipline;
- Several years experience in the field of remote sensing product development;
- Aerosol optical properties retrieval from satellite data;
- Inverse modeling of atmospheric composition using (vector) radiative transfer;
- Calibration and validation of satellite data products;
- EPS instruments hyperspectral infrared, UV/Visible sounders and multi-channel;
- Specification, design, coding and testing of complex product processors;
- Satellite data and product quality control, software build and version control,
- Ability to write concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports;
- Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
