Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for an Multi-Sensor Aerosol Product Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the LEO Team. Tasks will include:

  • Developing operational processor for multi-sensor satellite retrievals of aerosol optical properties from Metop data;
  • Integrating the processor into the operational product processing chain;
  • Developing functional, performance and quality monitoring processes;
  • Analysis of processor performance and product quality;
  • Supporting the validation of aerosol products from EPS.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree or equivalent in remote sensing or in a relevant discipline;
  • Several years experience of the development of software for the processing of satellite or meteorological data;
  • UNIX application development and testing in C/C++ and scripting languages;
  • Quality control of satellite data and products;
  • Build environments and tools (make, imake, eclipse, insure++, Subversion or CVS);
  • Knowledge of the EPS missions and instruments;
  • Aerosol optical properties retrieval from satellite data;
  • Calibration and validation of satellite products;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
