As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a System Operations Engineering Support
Activities
You will be working in the System Operations Team to support in following tasks:
- System engineering and coordination of the operations of the Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) spacecraft and ground segments in compliance with specifications
- Operational validation of releases, database maintenance, user administration, investigation of system anomalies and the raising, tracking and regression testing of Anomaly Reports
- Yearly update of the Mid-term Evolution Plan in particular for the EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS) and Multi-Mission components of the operational systems
- Definition of user requirements for LEO and Multi-Mission system evolutions as well as participation in the implementation of the validation of associated changes
- Analysis of major system changes due to control centre equipment relocations
- Coordination of the production of LEO Ground segment related system procedures and training of the operations teams
- Participation in the implementation of Business Continuity processes
- Update and validation of a System Contingency Operations Guide as well as interactions with external partners
- Preparations for future EPS spacecraft launch and commissioning as well as any necessary meetings and reviews
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in engineering or equivalent
- Professional experience in the field of Space System Engineering in high- availability operational systems
- Good knowledge and experience with real-time spacecraft and ground segment operations, operational validation of real-time systems and associated operational procedures as well as definition of user requirements
- Experience in change management and international operations coordination
- Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
