As support to a European space company we are looking for a Thermal Engineer
Activities
You will be part of a team of experts in the competence centre of a European leading company in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space transportation and satellites. You will be responsible for following activities:
- Execute theoretical investigations, computations and estimations related to thermal aspects of spacecraft subsystems and components
- Establishment of dedicated geometrical models as well as thermal and fluidic mathematical models
- Performance of thermal analyses for existing subsystems and components and new developments
- Co-operation with other specialist areas, like structure mechanics and propulsion systems
- System engineering for dedicated development activities
- Development or contribution of system and sub-system specifications
- Preparation and maintenance of interface documentation or contract documents
- Contribution for the establishment of test plans and specifications; review of existing test plans
- Test preparation activities, tests supervisory and test evaluations
- Support to the establishment of technical proposals and dedicated cost estimations and planning
- Execution of work orders including written and verbal reporting, comprehensive technical reports, primarily in English language
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or equivalent
- Several years of experience in thermal or fluidic analysis and system engineering
- Good knowledge of THERMICA or ESATAN
- Ability to work in teams, flexibility and ability to work autonomously
- Fluency in English is mandatory; German would be an asset
