On behalf of the Human Spaceflight Directorate (HSF) at ESTEC we are looking for a Microgravity Physiology Coordinator

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The candidate will assist the Life Science Unit head in the monitoring and in the management of micro/hyper-gravity projects in the field of Human Physiology, such as:

• Flight experiments and experiments performed in spaceflight analogues or simulations
  • Organisation of research announcements and monitoring of peer reviews;
  • Realisation of experiment definition studies (spaceflight);
  • Support the implementation of experiments (spaceflight);
  • Support to Technical Officers of bedrest studies and other ground based research platforms;
  • Provide feedback and reporting of outcome of experiments;
• Topical teams supervision;
• Support the maintenance of the ESA experiment database;
• Organize scientific symposia and workshops;
• Presentation and/or promotion of the ESA Life Science Programme at scientific and other relevant events.

Skills and experience:

• Physiologist (PhD) or medical doctor;
• Management experience;
• Additional experience of projects in space or space related settings is an advantage;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills;
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
