As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. You will be working as a member of the MetOp-B Flight Control Team to support following tasks/areas:
- Service Module Power and Thermal Systems;
- Payload Module (PLM) Avionics;
- Flight Operation Procedure preparation and validation;
- System Validation Test preparation;
- Mission Control System Validation;
- Training and Simulations;
- Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) preparation and execution;
- Handover and post-LEOP activities;
- Preparation and execution of ground segment validation tests including Mission Control System acceptance tests and System Validation Tests;
- Interface with customer, project, industry and other divisions for spacecraft operations matters.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in engineering, physics or equivalent;
- Several years of professional experience with spacecraft subsystems and spacecraft mission operations;
- Good knowledge of ground segment at system level;
- Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000, as well as with operational simulators;
- Familiarity with PC based MS tools
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French or German would be an asset.
