As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. You will be working as a member of the MetOp-B Flight Control Team to support following tasks/areas:

• Service Module Power and Thermal Systems;
• Payload Module (PLM) Avionics;
• Flight Operation Procedure preparation and validation;
• System Validation Test preparation;
• Mission Control System Validation;
• Training and Simulations;
• Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) preparation and execution;
• Handover and post-LEOP activities;
• Preparation and execution of ground segment validation tests including Mission Control System acceptance tests and System Validation Tests;
• Interface with customer, project, industry and other divisions for spacecraft operations matters.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in engineering, physics or equivalent;
• Several years of professional experience with spacecraft subsystems and spacecraft mission operations;
• Good knowledge of ground segment at system level;
• Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000, as well as with operational simulators;
• Familiarity with PC based MS tools
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French or German would be an asset.
