As support to the European Space Operations Centre we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer for BepiColombo

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. You will be working onsite as part of the BepiColombo Mission Control Team. Your tasks will include:

  • Preparing and conducting the mission operations
  • Taking part in the typical tasks of mission preparation and implementation of the relevant Ground Segment during the Mission Preparation Phase and supporting the Flight Operations after launch
  • Familiarizing with the BepiColombo mission characteristics and supporting operational analyses of the mission
  • Support to the specification, development, integration and validation of the ground systems and facilities required for BepiColombo
  • Supporting project reviews of spacecraft system, subsystem and payload documentation regarding operational aspects
  • Providing operations support to the Spacecraft Operations Manager at Systems & Spacecraft level for mission management and mission planning
  • Preparing and validating nominal and contingency procedures for flight and for spacecraft testing on ground
  • Supporting the Ground Segment Integration Tests, Training and Simulations
  • Participating in LEOP and Mission Critical operations
  • Supporting in-flight operations
  • Supporting off-line evaluation of the spacecraft in-flight performance

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in Engineering, Science or another relevant discipline
  • Several years of professional experience in spacecraft operations, in particular in the Avionics area, as well as in ground systems integration and testing
  • Familiarity with ground systems and facilities required to support spacecraft operations
  • Familiarity with the ESOC environment advantageous
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
