In support of ESA’s request for future positions at ESTEC we are looking for a: Power Conditioning and Distribution Technician

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Evaluation of low voltage and high voltage power circuitry designs, including the fabrication, development and test of power electronic breadboards;
• Engineering support in the domain of spacecraft power supplies space projects, predominantly assigned to (but not restricted to) evaluation/verification phases;
• Day to day maintenance and control of the Power Laboratory facilities including the submission of test equipment for periodic calibration and electronic component stock control;
• Hardware and software, configuration and maintenance support for the automated test equipment and data acquisition systems within the Power Laboratory;
• Hardware and software support for the local area sub-network and also the specialised Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages such as Microcap and Pspice;
• Operate and maintain the High Voltage Vacuum Test Facility of the Power Laboratory and the attendant high voltage power supplies and data acquisition system.

Skills and Experience:

• University Degree in a computer related subject or equivalent;
• Several years of experience in analogue and digital circuit design, circuit simulation methods/tools, magnetic component and prototype printed circuit board design/manufacture and associated software concepts;
• Familiarity with space design standards/practices and with the general characteristics/constraints of the space environment;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
