In support of ESA’s request for future positions at ESTEC we are looking for an: Energy Storage Engineer

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Integrating test equipment;
• Programming the test control computers;
• Performing and monitoring the tests;
• Performing or arranging for maintenance and calibrating of test equipment;
• Maintaining a comprehensive test data archive accessible by test managers over the network;
• Developing and maintaining battery test software;
• Assisting in designing and building special test jigs/equipment and breadboards for Power Management and Distribution;
• Assisting in designing and building special test jigs/equipment for high voltage tests preparation in the High Voltage Laboratory;
• Maintain and expand the capabilities of a new battery test software system based on LuaView and LabView;
• Maintain Division Servers, data archiving and data processing tool;
• Configure local sub-networks;
• Maintain the capabilities of the battery test software based on Rocky Mountain Basic.

Skills and Experience:

• University Degree in a computer related subject or equivalent;
• Several years of professional experience in Database design and management in Unix/Linux environment;
• Good knowledge of Programming in C, LabView, Luaview, Lua, Basic and of Real time programming (e.g. LabView, Luaview, Lua, etc.);
• Good communication skills and willingness to operate in an international team;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
