In support of ESA’s request for future positions at ESTEC we are looking for a: Solar Generators Engineer

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Provision of functional support to one or several ESA satellite projects;
• Monitoring of qualification and test programs for body mounted and deployable solar arrays utilizing advanced solar cells;
• Supervision of industrial contracts for research and development of solar cells and modules (including thin film technology, concentrator systems and electrostatic discharge experiments);
• Assistance to the EPG section team on solar array related design and qualification issues.

Skills and Experience:

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
• Several years of professional experience in multi-junction space solar cells technology;
• Knowledge of thin-film solar cell (i.e. CIGS), photovoltaic assembly (PVA) technology;
• Familiarity with European Space Standard (ECSS) requirements;
• Experience in technical contract management;
• Good communication skills; Proactive attitude to problems solving;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
