Job Description

As support to a European space company we are looking for an Email and Groupware Engineer and Administrator

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the Service Support Team. Your tasks will include:

  • Operate, maintain and monitor available servers and clusters;
  • Identify, diagnose and debug problems as well as assess, review, verify, validate and test system or components upgrades including lab and field trials;
  • Create, update and maintain procedures to operate, maintain and administer the system (e.g. adding/removing account, check email flow etc);
  • Provide 2nd level user and technical support on the Email and Groupware Service;
  • Liaise with the Spam Filter Service provider and if necessary escalate 3rd level incidents;
  • Liaise with the software vendors (RIM, FAX gateway etc) for 3rd level support;
  • Contribute to the procurement of information technology services, systems and components by providing specifications and performing price inquiries;
  • Act as interface with hardware and software suppliers regarding procurement, warranty and maintenance issues.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in Information Technology or equivalent;
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in installation, tuning, operation and maintenance of Microsoft Exchange 2007 CCR Cluster, Microsoft File Cluster,
  • Microsoft Print Server, Office Communications Server (OCS), System Centre
  • Operations Manager (SCOM), Exchange ActiveSync, Blackberry Enterprise Server,
  • Microsoft SQL Cluster, Esker Fax Server and Windows Server 2008 R2;
  • Sound hands-on experiences on configuring and troubleshooting the SMTP protocols;
  • Experience in a structured, ISO 9000 certified project and service environment;
  • Knowledge of ITIL and hands-on experience in change and configuration management;
  • Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
