In support of ESA’s Science, Robotics and Exploration Directorate at ESTEC we are looking for : Scheduling, Planning and Documentation Support (SPD)
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Scheduling, Planning and Reporting:
- Produce schedule and planning reports, including e.g. trend charts, with identification of critical path and problem areas;
- Verify consistency between the schedule of the project Prime Contractors and those of his Subcontractors;
- Assist in establishing schedule data interfaces within the science project and the various mission elements (ground segment, spacecraft, payload, launcher);
- Participate in the establishment of baseline schedule and plans;
- Advise on Schedule and Control methods;
- Participate, as schedule experts, in the evaluation of industrial proposals;
- Support the consolidation of inputs for the Cosmic Vision overall schedule.
In addition to the above tasks, the selected candidate shall assist the Project Controllers in a variety of tasks, including:
- Cost Planning by correlating the schedule data with the Contractual payment milestones or cost reporting periods;
- Utilisation of corporate tools and directorate specific developed management information tools regarding budget, finance and cost control;
- Good receipt control process involving all necessary actors, including project team, Contracts Division and Finance Division;
- Registration, distribution and archiving of project documentation and maintenance of databases;
- Configuration Management activities for controlled project documentation;
- Assist in the production of Knowledge Management procedures;
- Consolidation of the expenditures of industrial contractors and of national contributions provided via formal agreements between ESA and Member States;
- Support to project reviews;
- Provide ad hoc project control and administrative support as needed.
Skills and Experience:
- Several years of relevant experience in project management (scheduling and planning).
- Required skills and specific experience in one or several of the following fields are:
- Planning and follow-up of activities and production of related reports;
- Autonomy, initiative and capacity to identify priority actions and to handle high work load;
- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- Knowledge of ESA Corporate and D/SRE specific software tools, documentations systems, and databases is required;
- Experience in the space sector;
- Knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera scheduling tools;
- Knowledge of the financial aspects of ESA contracts;
- Document Management System experience would be advantageous;
- Fluent in English; knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
Starting date: June 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter
