As support to a European space company we are looking for a Design Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space systems and security applications. You will be working on-site as Design Engineer, responsible for the following activities:

• Develop different satellite configurations and the corresponding subsystem accommodation and prepare the relevant configuration and accommodation drawings
• Develop and design satellite structures, design mechanical ground devices for satellite handling and prepare the related fabrication documents and instructions
• Prepare documentation such as design and interface descriptions
• Oversee, supervise and manage subcontractors and suppliers
• Execute and oversee assembly, integration and testing work on the satellite
• Assemble, start up and test the ground equipment
• Consult with the customer and subcontractors on the applicable requirements
• Present the results to the customer

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Several years of professional experience as a design engineer ideally in the area of satellite technology
• Familiarity with use of a 3D CAD system, ideally Unigraphics NX
• Good negotiation skills and willingness to travel
• Flexibility and ability to swiftly work into new responsibilities
• Ability to work with minimum supervision as well as in teams
• Fluency in English is mandatory; German would be an asset
