Job Description

As support to a European space company we are looking for an MCS Application Automatic Testing Infrastructure Support

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the Monitoring and Control Application Team. Your tasks will include:

  • Customisation of automated testing tools targeted to help optimize and accelerate the VV activities of software changes in the overall MCS maintenance life-cycle
  • Adaptation of existing modules or development of new ones, required to provide interface “probing” mechanisms for applications relevant components on behalf of the system testing execution infrastructure
  • Define and design a test infrastructure integrated solution allowing to perform a test closed-loop where pass/fail results can be mapped to original requirements of the system under test and automatic requirements verification reports produced
  • Customisation of existing test cases and test procedures using ECSS standards as fundamental guidelines (e.g. E-70-41, E-70-31, E-70-32) approach and design of new ones according to the deployed customised testing infrastructure
  • Integration with the requirements management infrastructure

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline
  • Several years of professional experience in software development, engineering and testing of mission ground data systems
  • Familiarity with UNIX SVR4 Operating System and SUSE LINUX distributions
  • Knowledge of based mission control systems with related system and integration testing at unit, component and application level
  • Familiarity with networking, distributed applications, services based infrastructures and system elements modelling
  • Knowledge of: Java programming language (J2SE); Java Swing, SWT; Java JNDI, JAXB; Perl, TCL/TK, c-shell scripts; MySQL and JDBC; XML, XML Schema and XSLT technologies; CORBA compliant ORB: omniORB; Configuration control systems: SubVersion; CVS; Unit testing frameworks; Tool-based Software design UML2; Eclipse and Eclipse projects; Eclipse plugins/bundles development
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
