For the engineering department of our client (Dutch Space) we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Lead Engineer of Solar Arrays

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

As a Lead Engineer at Dutch Space you will contribute to the creation of the technical part of a Solar Array Proposal. You will review external requirements and prepare a design and development plan. In addition, you will take care of the selection and application of technologies and you develop (draft) designs for the
(sub-) system. You will contribute to the technical part of the project reviews. You will also take an active role in making suggestions for further developments in the field. In projects you will fulfill the role of work package manager and lead approximately ten project members in the operations. Your appointment will
begin with an intensive training period.

Skills and Experience:

• University degree;
• Min 5 years of experience in the design of lightweight structures;
• Knowledge and experience in working with mathematical models such as NASTRAN / PATRAN and familiarity with the requirements that materials should meet;
• Experience with kinematics and knowledge of modern composites;
• Proactive, problem solving and results-oriented attitude; capable of directing and steering a group of specialists;
• Able to translate complex customer wishes into concrete plans and thereby demonstrate an understanding of the interests and political forces inside and outside the organization;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills;
• Fluent in English.

Duration: 1 year with the possibility of indefinite employment
