HE Space Operations, on behalf of Dutch Space, is looking for a: Senior Thermal Engineer

The person selected will have the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Analyse requirements and translate into a Thermal Control concept
• Design and develop the Thermal Control subsystem by analysis and trade-offs of thermal control design concepts
• Solve thermal control design problems in consultation with in-house specialists, customers and subcontractors
• Specify thermal control equipment and/or hardware
• Validate the Thermal Control concept by Thermal Balance testing and/or analysis
• Contribute to overall system design on related subjects (interfaces, risk and budgets)
• Generate design specifications for design by others such as subcontractors
• Contribute to the Thermal Control Engineering knowledge base
• Execute work package management

Skills and Experience:

• University degree (MSc/BSc) in Physics
• At least 15 years’ space experience in design and development of Thermal Control systems
• Experience with Thermal Control software tools as ESATAN TMS and Linux-based operating systems
• Thermal Acceptance and Thermal Balance testing experience
• Experience with thermal control hardware procurement and integration aspects
• Coaching and technical management skills
• Good English, both written and verbal
• Dutch is useful but not strictly required
• Team player
