As support to a European space company we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer (Venus Express)

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. You will be working onsite as part of the Venus Express (VEX) Mission Control Team to provide operations support primarily for Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem (AOCS) and/or Data Handling system (DH) and ground software operations. Your tasks will include:

• Take prime responsibility of a platform subsystem and back up of at least one spacecraft/ground subsystems (AOCS, Data Handling, Payload instrument, Power & Thermal, TT&C, MCS, Simulator or MPS);
• Work with the VEX Mission Planning System including the generation of long, medium and short term planning products on rotation shifts;
• Work and be on call as operations engineer supervising operations conduction;
• Write and maintain operational procedures (in MOIS) and reports;
• Operate the VEX Mission Control System based on SCOS 2000 to monitor and control spacecraft operations;
• Participate in the relevant technical meetings and teleconferences.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or in an equivalent discipline;
• Several years of professional experience in ground operations (S2K+MOIS), mission planning and automation;
• Good knowledge of spacecraft hardware, software and operations;
• Assertive, communicative and able to work in team in a multinational environment;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
