As support to a European space company we are looking for a Configuration Management Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the Operations Configuration Management (CM) team in the Maintenance and Engineering Division of the Operations Department. Your tasks will include:

• Creation, modification, deletion and the version tracking of the HW items, SW items and documentation;
• Administer and perform an end-to-end tracking of Engineering Change Requests and Proposals;
• Keep up to date the database recording the mapping of SW items onto HW items;
• Prepare and present Release and Environment Baselines as necessary;
• Act as the Secretary for the Change and Anomaly Review Board meetings;
• Perform configuration audits and issue Configuration Status Accounting Reports;
• Organise and support the administration and tracking of Anomaly/Non Conformance Reports;
• Ensure the proper identification and archiving of software releases;
• Witness and cross-check activities relevant to software installation;
• Provide support to the CM of source code and data files;
• Participate in the definition and implementation of the processes document;
• Perform the first level maintenance;
• Produce and update tool procedures;
• Attend technical meetings as well as participate in formal reviews.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in Computer Science or in an equivalent discipline;
• Several years of practical experience in the field of CM on large software- intensive high-availability operational systems;
• Good knowledge of CM tools (Dimensions or Clearcase), Databases (Oracle or Sybase), SQL programming, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Javascript or VisualBasic) and CM standards (CMMI, ISO or ESA ECSS);
• Good communication and team working skills;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
