HE Space Operations is a growing international space company. For over 25 years we have provided our customers with consultancy services in Engineering and Business Administration.
As support to a European space company we are looking for a EPS Operations Engineer
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the Meteorological Operations Division. Your tasks will include:
- Participate in the operations preparation, launch and commissioning phases of EPS
- Collecting information from the following systems to perform regular production and quality monitoring reports:
- EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS) processing chains
- EPS product quality monitoring (ARGUS)
- Cal /Val Facility (CVF)
- Performing off-line analysis of product quality using ARGUS and the CVF
- Maintaining product databases
- Elaborating, tracking and publishing service level quality indicators
- Reporting anomalies in product services, contribute to their diagnosis and track their resolution
- Supporting the Metop-B launch preparation and commissioning phases
- Support to reprocessing activities
- Maintaining contact with users to obtain their feedback on product service quality
- Maintaining WWW page content on system status and service quality indicators
- Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings
- Participation in formal reviews
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in a relevant discipline
- Several years of professional experience in the operational use and quality control of satellite or meteorological data. Specifically, experience in:
- Quality control of satellite data and products
- Utilisation of satellite or meteorological products
- Configuration control of software and data
- Production monitoring and reporting
- Operational product processing environments
- Oracle databases and SQL
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
