As support to a European space company we are looking for a
MTG Satellite Simulator &
Mission Operations Facility Tools Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite
data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the MTG
Ground Segment Team. Your tasks will include:

  • Support the MTG satellite simulator development and follow up the MTG Mission Operations Facility Tools procurement to make sure that the delivery fits the intended purpose
  • Support the MTG ground segment team, the Mission Operations Facility (MOF) manager and the ground segment manager / technical manager
  • Interact with suppliers and partner organisations
  • Support to the reviews on MOF Tools level and MTG satellite simulator level
  • Identification of review item discrepancies (RIDs) in data packages under review and participation to the Reviews including presentation of RIDs generated
  • Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings
  • Analysis and review of any relevant MTG documentation
  • Develop, including design, documentation, coding and testing of dedicated Mission Operations Facility tools not externally procured based on input requirement documentation
  • Additional tasks may be required at a later stage.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline
  • Several years of demonstrated professional experience in:
    • Mission Operations System specifications/development and/or procurement within a space system
    • Spacecraft simulator development, installation, testing and hands-on operation
    • Software development in mySQL or ORACLE and in JAVA
    • AIV related activities (test procedure generation, requirements verification and validation, test report generation)
    • SW development under UNIX / Linux operating system
  • A goal oriented attitude with a good level of communication skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
