As support to a European space company we are looking for a Simulations Officer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground
station tracking network services to its users. You will be working onsite to train the
Mission Control Team. Your tasks will include:

• Developing the training concept and the associated simulation plan to train the Mission Control Team, in order to prepare them for the launch or other critical phases of an ESA mission;
• Involved with the operational training of other staff, including but not limited to Ground Operations Managers and ESTRACK Control Centre (ECC) operators;
• Involved with general training and simulation activities;
• For a particular mission, the Prime Simulations Officer is responsible for the delivery of training to the Mission Control Team.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in engineering or physics or in a similar discipline;
• Several years of professional experience in spacecraft and/or operational applications, preferably also in the area of training;
• Familiarity with both the space and ground segment, good spacecraft knowledge on a subsystem level;
• Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems;
• Knowledge of operational simulators, ideally SimSat;
• An understanding of satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000;
• Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
