As support to a European space company we are looking for an
Operations Infrastructure Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite
data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the
Operations Department. Your tasks will include:

• Maintain the full set of infrastructure and system level drawings;
• Coordinate the design and implementation of the infrastructure planning and monitoring tools;
• Liaise with the Configuration Management team and the Inventory officer for the migration and maintenance of the OPS physical Inventory into SAP;
• Be responsible for the OPS/MED warehouse, liaising with the reception of hardware from GES personnel, labelling and storage;
• Manage the OPS consumables procurement, storage and distribution;
• Provide support for cables installation and new equipment integration, including voice loop systems and Antennas systems;
• Perform reconciliation of tangible asset database with the physical inventory database;
• Contribute to the definition and implementation of Working Practices;
• Interface with service suppliers and maintenance contractors.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in a relevant discipline;
• Several years of professional experience in 24x7 operational or production environment, employing strict configuration and change control rules;
• Good knowledge of infrastructure planning, including server and control rooms layout design and racks layout, maintenance of complex infrastructure drawings,
• design and implementation of infrastructure monitoring systems, inventory control, racks installation, installation and pointing of Antennas, etc.;
• Knowledge of SAP modules for inventory management;
• Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills;
• Fluency in English and German is mandatory; French would be an asset.
