As support to a European space company we are looking for a Scientific Documentation Writer
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite in the Operations Department as a member of the Meteorological Operations Division (MOD). Your tasks will include:
- Preparation and maintenance of scientific documentation related to product definition, generation and validation;
- Collect input to documents from scientists and engineers;
- Ensure consistency of style across documents;
- Prepare draft documents for review and document issues for publication;
- Prepare Web site contents;
- Coordinate document releases with the User Services Division responsible for Web site contents;
- Definition of scientific documentation maintenance procedures, including templates and guidelines for contributors.
- Participation in document reviews;
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline:
- Several years of professional experience in scientific documentation editing and maintenance, particularly in compiling documents from multiple contributors,
- processing of large text documents with Microsoft Word, processing of complex documents including images, equations, etc.;
- Good knowledge of maintaining issues and revisions of documents as well as making portable documents;
- Familiarity with working within a Document management system;
- Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
